ATLANTA PUPPET

Birthday Party Info

If the child is younger than 4...

If your child will not yet be 4 on the birthday you wish to celebrate....

Thank you for your interest in Atlanta Puppet programs.

We respectfully request not to be considered for your child's first few birthdays or for an assemblage of children under the age of 4.

Our program would mean little to your child and the other toddlers other than another instance of color and sound in a world they are just beginning to know.

We understand and respect a parent's desire - especially a mother's desire - to give and share with a child all the wonderful moments that life may have to offer. And we are proud to be considered for one of those moments.

It is our advice that, for these first birthdays,  the most wonderful moment would be you.  No distractions, no schedules, just you and your child alone together - perhaps with his favorite cuddly toy that you animate the way you know would make him smile and laugh. And for a grand finale, you could teach him a simple song that would be the special song between you for the rest of his childhood. The happy birthday song is always a good choice.

Take him to a sporting event where there are a lot of people. Let him get accustomed to people around him - many that he may not know well - reacting in various ways to things they see. This way he will become accustomed to audience behavior. If he becomes upset, he can cry as loud as he wants. No one will be bothered - after all, it is a sporting event and there will be enough noise going on. You will be there to soothe him and explain to him if he is frightened by the boisterousness of some of the fans.  It sure beats taking him to a movie or quiet theatre and getting shushed.

When he is 4, contact us. He will know the world enough by then that what we have to offer will fit in nicely with his growing knowledge of laughter, music, and delighful surprise.

Our prices may change in the next 2 - 3 years, but we hope you'll keep us on file.

Yours,

Peter Hart
